About Ynah

Welcome!

20131114_135500

I am Ynah,  a licensed teacher from the Philippines! This is my first attempt at creating a travel blog to document my travels and my experiences as it happens.

I have a degree in Biology and Genetics and have been involved in research and teaching for a number of years.  I’ve also been co-writing books, developing e-learning modules and adult learning materials for various educational institutions, but traveling has always been on my mind.

Recently, I’ve decided to expand my travel interests beyond the places I’m already familiar with, like; Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Brunei, to more diverse and exotic destinations.

During my most recent travels I’ve realized how energizing, enriching and educational travels can be if you only sufficiently curious about the world around you. Traveling grew to be a very important part of my life and I love all its benefits: The experiencing of different cultures and people, the creation of long-lasting beautiful memories and friendships, the unlimited opportunities for learning new things, challenging myself and growing.   All those opportunities I could only find in a well-planned active travel adventure, as opposed to a passive holiday spent on sandy beaches of some popular tourist resort.  Both are great and beneficial, but personally I prefer the active exploratory one.

I decided to delve into the world of travel blogging because I want to be able to write down all of my experiences as they occur, while still traveling, so the other travelling enthusiasts could see how truly amazing and life changing traveling can be. I also wanted to have that special place for my family and my friends to have them together with me on all my adventures.

So, please join me here and let’s experience together the good, the bad and the ugly, as I visit the distant exotic lands and their people.

      Hi Shofey!

I haven’t blog that much about the Philippines, but it is indeed a great place to explore. Anyway, what do you look for when travelling? Are you into nature: Trekking? Beaches? or food exploration? Let me know so I can give you a suitable advice on where to go.

      Happy travels!
